A 1982 album by American pianist Keith Jarrett, who had already established his reputation in his twenties with historic masterpieces such as Solo Concerts and The Köln Concert. The album captures a live performance recorded in 1981 at the Festspielhaus in Bregenz, Austria. Highlights include A1 and B1, where Jarrett’s improvisations unfold in soaring, beautifully lyrical lines that represent his playing at its very best. Throughout the album, the performance moves far beyond the conventional boundaries of jazz and enters a higher, almost transcendent musical realm. The digital recording is also exceptionally well executed, and although this is the Japanese pressing, the sound quality is remarkably good.
