This album, released in 1972, marked the debut of American pianist Keith Jarrett after he moved to ECM following his creation of historic masterpieces like 'Solo Concert' and 'Koln Concert' in his twenties. It is an album where he performed solo piano pieces, all composed by himself. In this piano solo work, he drew from the foundation of traditional American jazz but elevated it to new dimensions, infusing it with a positive and vibrant energy. Throughout the entire album, you can experience his remarkable piano performance. The engineering work by Jan Erik Kongshaug, who demonstrated his skill in numerous ECM productions, is also brilliantly executed. This is the Japanese reissue in 1978 by Victor in Japan.
