This is a 1978 album released by ECM, by American pianist Keith Jarrett, who rose to fame in his 20s with historic masterpieces such as "Solo Concert" and "Koln Concert." It features a quartet with Jan Garbarek (ss), a leader in Nordic jazz who had already collaborated with Jarrett on three ECM works, along with Jan Cristensen (ds) and Pale Danielson (b), also from Northern Europe. As the title "My Song" and the artwork of a child suggest, the album primarily contains calm, personal songs by Keith Jarrett. However, the somewhat ethnic atmosphere in A1/B2/B3 might be due to the sensibility of the Nordic musicians. Jan Cristensen's drumming is quite primitive.
