Quartet with Dewey Redman (ts,per), Charlie Haden (b), Paul Motian (ds,per). Commissioned by Avery Fisher Hall in New York, this full-length suite develops energetically and movingly from an introduction in which Jarrett himself plays the bass recorder with ethnic percussion beats in the background. On the back of the outer sleeve, "And those that create out of th eholocaust of their own nheritance anything more than a convenient self-made tomb shall be known as ‘Survivor'." and is accompanied by Jerrett's words.
