Japanese electronic musician Ken Ikeda, globally recognized for his cutting-edge and experimental work—including DAM (2023), recorded inside a massive dam with Carl Stone; Skin Tones (2017), a collaboration with David Toop; and Gauche (2022), a collaboration with Japanese saxophonist Akira Sakata—now sees his 2007 CD release pressed on vinyl for the first time. An improvisational ambient masterpiece, this work features a uniquely innovative sonic structure, where natural and electronic sounds blend seamlessly—so much so that it's impossible to distinguish between them. Like a light drizzle, delicate sonic droplets gently soak the soundscape, creating an organic and immersive listening experience. Perfect for cleansing both eardrums and nerve cells. Simply stunning. Highly recommended. This is the first release from mykesrhiza, a label run by Jun Kitamura of Koenji Knock. The mastering is handled by Chihei Hatakeyama, a leading figure in deep drone ambient music in Japan and beyond. The release also includes liner notes written by Ikeda himself, offering insights into his musical perspective.
