King Sunny Ade and His African Beats released their world debut album in 1982, produced by Martin Meissonnier, who also produced Manu Dibango and Yasuaki Shimizu's 1987 masterpiece Subliminal. A1 is a smoky Afro-dub with super-fat kick and bass and effective spacey steel guitars, while A4 is a juju-dub with indigenous African voices and trippy synths topped with a strong talking drum beat. A4 is a juju dancer with a strong talking drum beat topped with indigenous African voices and trippy synths. It's a unique, floating, wave-like sound that travels through your body.
