In addition to his work as a member of jazz groups such as Jazzwheel and Crossing, German pianist Klaus Ignatzek, who has also produced many excellent solo works, released an album in 1986 on a minor label. This album was created to express opposition to South Africa's apartheid policy. Like South Africa's renowned pianist Dollar Brand, it carries a powerful political message at its core, yet what makes the music remarkable is how this message manifests as an emotionally rich and moving solo piano performance. Highly recommended.
