An album released in 1986 by the Kronos Quartet, a string quartet group consisting of David Harrington (violin), John Sherba (violin), Hank Dutt (viola), and Joan Jeanrenaud (cello), renowned worldwide for their performances of Steve Reich's works. This album exclusively features compositions by jazz pianist Bill Evans, and includes contributions from bassist Eddie Gomez and guitarist Jim Hall, both of whom were prominent in Evans' group. With Kronos Quartet's innovative approach and Tom Darter's excellent arrangements, Evans' masterpieces are brilliantly transformed into chamber music. The entire album is highly recommended, especially for those who enjoy ECM.
