The Kronos Quartet is a string quartet consisting of David Harrington (violin), John Sherba (violin), Hank Dutt (viola) and Joan Jeanrenaud (chello), who have gained international recognition for their performances of Steve Reich's works. This album, released in 1988, features compositions by a wide range of musicians, including Terry Reily, Arvo Part, Anton Webern, John Zorn and Astor Piazzolla, as well as traditional music from Finland and elsewhere. The album includes A2 by long-time collaborator Terry Reily, and John Zone's A5 is featured Christian Marclay and Japanese singer Hiromi Ohta. B2 features Astor Piazolla's 1987 work.
