An album released in 1981 by Krystall Klear and the Buells, a group centered around Marty Krystall (ts, bc, vo), who had been a support musician for many artists since the 1970s, and featuring Jerry Peters (og), Gene Cipriano (ts, bo), Buell Neidlinger (b), and Peter Erskine (ds). The album opens with Neidlinger's bass, reminiscent of Gary Peacock, and features Krystall's frenetic tenor saxophone, as heard in A1. The work unfolds a thrilling performance that intertwines contemporary sensibilities with avant-garde interplay. The jazz-funk B1, with Peter's incredibly cool Hammond organ intertwining with the groovy rhythm section, and B2, also featuring Peter's bluesy and swaying Hammond organ, are particularly recommended.
A1: Flowers Pluck Themselves
B1: When it Drips, It’s Ready
B2: Blues in White
