Empire Bakuba, a Zairean (now Congolese) band formed in 1972 by former Lipua Lipua members Pepe Kalle, Papy Tex and Dilu Dilumona, released this hidden gem in 1986. The group's signature soft vocals and chorus work is a nice touch. B1, with its unusually minor-key chords and jazzy three-beat groove, is very modern and impressive.
