A very obscure item has arrived. This is an album released in 1986 by the one-off unit L.S.-F.W., consisting of four musicians from the UK, Germany, and Greece: Paul Lytton (drums, live electronics), Hans Schneider (bass), Floros Floridis (clarinet, alto saxophone), and Phil Wachsmann (violin, live electronics). Side A features a live recording from the 2nd Jazz and Improvised Festival held in Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city. Side B includes recordings of an improvised session held in a studio in Thessaloniki around the same time. Floridis' saxophone produces piercing high notes, the drums rustle and stir as if making noises, and live electronics are also employed to create a vortex of sound, showcasing the collective improvisational prowess of the group.
