A 1977 release by Dutch pianist Leo Cuypers, who also took part in the Baden-Baden Free Jazz Orchestra and played on the classic live album Gittin' To Know Y'All (MPS, 1970). Side A features a trio with Arjen Gorter (bass) and Martin van Duynhoven (drums), while Side B expands to a quartet with reed player Willem Breuker, who also produced the album. Highlights include the cool, grooving rhythm section on A1, the waltz beat of A3 with piano riffs soaring high, the spacious simplicity of B4, and Cuypers’ wild synth solo on B7. Packed with standout tracks throughout.
