This is the second volume of an album featuring Egyptian traditional music, released in 1979 by Ocora, one of Europe's leading labels known for its numerous field recordings of ethnic and indigenous music from around the world. Recorded in 1977 at Radio France studios by Les Musiciens du Nil (Musicians of the Nile), it features a performance of the mizmar, a wooden wind instrument with a reed, accompanied by an Egyptian-style darbuka. The sharp attack of the darbuka's beat combined with the high-pitched melody of the mizmar leads to a trance-like state. The recording quality is also excellent. This is an original 1st press.
