Formed in 1962 in Strasbourg, a city on the Rhine in north-eastern France, Les Percussions de Strasbourg have been active for 60 years and have released a number of classic albums with their striking silver-printed, black typographic cover. This album was released in 1976. This is a promo for the Japanese version released in 1976. It features compositions by Francois Miroglio, a contemporary French composer. This is a masterful performance of the composition, in which the two contrasting elements of stillness and movement, tension and relaxation, expansion and contraction are expressed in a way that is not confrontational, but rather like the ebb and flow of the tide. The sound quality is very good, with pleasant echoes and resonances.
