Les Percussions de Strasbourg, formed in 1962 in Strasbourg, a city on the Rhine River in northeastern France, has been active for 60 years and has left behind a number of classic albums with silver prints and striking black typography on the cover. The composition is a masterful performance of two contrasting elements, static and dynamic, tense and relaxed, expanding and contracting, which are expressed like the ebb and flow of the tide, rather than opposition.
