This album contains four works by Luciano Berio. A1 is a 1961 magnetic tape collage based on the voice and electronic sounds of his wife, Cathy Berberian, and A2 and B2 are a series of flute solos composed in 1958. B1 is a piece for female voice, harp, and two percussionists, and is said to be the final form of the "Darmstadt School"; B2 was replaced by "Cinque Variazioni" on the Japanese edition only.
