This is an album by M. Taos Amrouche, the first female novelist and singer in North Africa and Algeria, who left several novels and albums in the 1960s and 1970s. The album features the folk music of the Berber people of Algeria, which includes elements of both religious music sung in mosques and ritual music outside of mosques. Although there are melodies that remind us of the historical background of the European region, where Arab culture is mixed with that of Greece and Spain, the sound of the flute and tambourine is extremely simple, and resonates with nostalgia along with Amrouche's voice with a vibrato that can be freely manipulated from the low to high registers.
