Maffy Falay and Sevda

sleeve : EX-(SPSE:2cm slightly crack.)

Sevda is a mixed Swedish-Turkish group featuring Maffy Falay, a Turkish trumpet player who has played on Don Cherry's classic "Organic Music Society" and "Live in Ankara", and who has also played with Okay Temiz. The album was released in 1973. Recorded live at the Stockholm Jazz Festival in Sweden, the album features Okay Temiz (ds), Bernt Rosengren (ts), Salih Baysal (violin) and others. This is a wonderful live performance of folkloric ethnic jazz that organically blends Turkish and Scandinavian folk music, with Salih Baysal's exotic violin and Turkish ethno-jazz great Okay Temiz's irregular darbukka drum set.
