Maki Asakawa, a singer-songwriter who started her career in the 60's at a U.S. military camp and cabaret, was discovered by Shuji Terayama and Koji Teramoto in the late 1960's, and started performing live at Sasori-Za in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This album was released in 1982. Maki Asakawa's works have different textures depending on the era, such as folk, rock, jazz, blues, etc. For this album, she invited the brilliant Kondo Toshinori, who worked closely with John Zorn, Henry Kaiser, David Toop and other famous avant-garde musicians, to compose and perform all the songs. In addition to Kondo, Toshiyuki Honda, Kiyoshi Sugimoto, Kazuo Tobita, Tamio Kawabata, and Hiro Tsunoda also participate in this album, which features free-form jazz rock with a tight, edgy sound that inspires. The grooves on A3/A4 are especially great.
