Maki Asakawa began working in American military camps and cabarets in the 60s, and in the late 60s she was discovered by Shuji Terayama and Koji Teramoto, and began performing live at Sasori-za in Shinjuku, where she gained great acclaim. Since then, she has released a number of classic albums. This is the masterpiece fifth album released in 1973, produced by Koji Teramoto. The lyrics were written by Shuji Terayama and Yasutaka Tsutsui and the music was composed by Yosuke Yamashita. Styles range from blues to rock, country/folk to jazz, but it's the superb performances of these renowned musicians and Asakawa's haunting vocals that create a world that is truly unique.
