This is an album released in 1970 by Mal Waldron, an American pianist who has been active at the forefront for nearly 50 years from the 1950s to the early 2000s, and whose astonishing jazz-rock album "The Call", the first album released on the Japo label, is very popular at our store. This album was recorded live in Paris in 1970 with Patrice Caratini (b) and Guy Hayat (ds) as a trio. The minimalist repetition of phrases on A1/B1 is a throwback to Africa, and A2 is a Waldron-style interpretation of "My Funny Valentine. Highly recommended.
