This is an album released in 1959 by the renowned American pianist Mal Waldron, who had been active at the forefront for nearly 50 years from the 1950s to the early 2000s. He is accompanied by Addison Farmer on bass and Albert Heath on drums in this trio setting. Among the recorded tracks, three are original scores by Waldron, composed as part of a composition known as the "Overseas Suite." This suite was composed in 1958 after Waldron returned from Billy Holiday's European tour. The piano melodies, played with a staccato touch and a cool tension, are truly characteristic of Waldron's style, creating a very pleasant sound. This is a US reissue from the Original Jazz Classics series.
