This is the third leader album released in 1979 by Italian jazz bassist Marcello Melis, who is active in the free jazz scene and has collaborated with Steve Lacy, Enrico Rava, Mario Schiano, and others. Recorded in New York with musicians like Lester Bowie, Don Moye, Don Pullen, Enrico Rava, and Nana Vasconcelos, whose names alone send shivers down your spine, this album features chaotic sounds with a lot of free improvisation. What's truly amazing is the nearly 17-minute long-scale improvisation that spans the entire B-side. The primitive percussion play by Nana Vasconcelos and Don Moye particularly enhances the ethnic atmosphere, which is a major highlight. The voice performances by Sheila Jordan and Jeanne Lee are also worth listening to.
