A collaboration between American jazz saxophonist Marion Brown, who was at the forefront from the 1960s to 2000, and German multi-instrumentalist Gunter Hampel, whose work has appeared on ESP Disk and as a member of Cecil Taylor and the Art Ensemble of Chicago in Europe. Released in 1968, this album features a quintet with Ambrose Jackson (tp), Buschi Niebergall (b) and Steve McCall (ds), and was recorded in 1968 at the Modernes in Munich, Germany. A masterpiece of avant-spiritual jazz, with a deep spirituality that seems to depict the whole forest through the contrast between stillness and movement, Hampell's vibraphone playing a very important role. Highly recommended. Pressing quality is not very good, with a few thin bumps on the disc, but no problems with playback.
