Enja Records (Germany) 1985
ENJA 4086 (LP)
sleeve : NM-(very slightly color-faded, still fine condition.)
media : EX/EX-(some slightly surface noises. side B has very slightly hairlines that does not affect to sounds.)

Leader album released in 1985 by American bassist Mark Helias, who has played in numerous groups and projects including Anthony Davis and Ray Anderson. The quintet included Gerry Hemingway (dr), whose 1988 release Tubworks is featured in the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION", Dewey Redman (ts), known for his collaborations with Don Cherry, Tim Berne (as) and Herb Robertson (tp etc). The chaotic free improvisation with a hint of ethnic sentiment is influenced by Don Cherry and the Art Ensemble of Chicago. Redman's presence is outstanding, but Hemingway's drumming is also excellent.
