This is the debut leader album released in 1968 by the American musician Marzette Watts, who suddenly emerged on the scene in the mid-1960s and ceased performing in the early 1970s, leaving behind only two original albums. The album was recorded in December 1966 in New York and features a powerhouse lineup including Byard Lancaster, Clifford Thornton, Juney Grimes, Sonny Sharrock, Karl Berger, and J.C. Moses. In the thriving avant-garde jazz scene of that time, this recording stands out as one of the most intense and chaotic floods of sound, miraculously balanced and forming an incredibly powerful session. This is the Japanese reissue from <ESP Jazz Masterpieces Collection> series by Japan Phonogram in 1978. The accompanying insert includes words from Watts himself, discussing the essence of free jazz while referring to action painting as an example.z
