This album, released in 1981, is the fourth collaboration between the French pianist Jean-Pierre Mas and the Brazilian bassist Cesarius Alvim, following the 1977 trio album "Jamais Deux Sans Trois" with Daniel Humair. A6 is a deep spiritual track with ethnic overtones, while B2 features a synthesizer pad sound. B4 is layered with the sound of waves recorded in Rio de Janeiro. Lyrical, fragile and beautiful, this is a hidden gem of contemporary jazz. Highly recommended.
