Fortuna Records (US) 1987
17052-1 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(TEOC,SPSE: 2cm light crack on top, light corner wear, slight fading)
media : EX/EX(some light surface noise)
An unknown masterpiece solo album released in 1987 by Masakazu Yoshizawa, a Japanese shakuhachi player who participated in almost all of Osamu Kitajima's works in the 1980s. Osamu Kitajima, his close friend, also produced the album and participated in playing acoustic guitar, biwa, and koto. With a deep knowledge of traditional Japanese music, this album is filled with wonderful new age world music that blends modern sensibilities with the unique Japanese aesthetic of "ma" (space/interval). In particular, A4 and B2 are spiritual music pieces, each over 11 minutes long, that surpass Osamu Kitajima's masterpiece "Benzaiten" from 1976. This is a largely unknown album, but highly recommended.
A4: Fuma Immortality
B2: Inko Divine Silhouettes
