American singer Maxine Sullivan, who enjoyed a career spanning half a century from the 1930s until shortly before her passing in 1987, released this album in 1956 under the production of the renowned pianist Leonard Feather. Backing her is Fats Waller and Others, with trumpeter Charlie Shavers also featured, and pianist Dick Hyman appearing on one track. This gem showcases the charm of Sullivan’s slightly weathered yet soft-toned vocals, with the slower jazz ballads standing out as particularly exquisite.
