This album was released in 1972 by American pianist McCoy Tyner, who was a core member of the John Coltrane Quartet from 1960 onwards, and played superbly on such historical classics as Coltrane, Ballad, Love Supreme and Ascention. It features Wayne Shorter (tsd,ss), Ron Carter (b), Gary Bartz (as), Elvin Jones (dr) and Alice Coltrane (harp) and was produced by Duke Peardon and recorded in 1970. A1 is a superb spiritual jazz with a strong return to Africa orientation, B1 is blues jazz that gradually heats up with a finest groove, and B2 is showing a soundscape that gently spreads out like a prayer to Mother Earth. It is a crystalline masterpiece that symbolises black jazz of the 1970s, This is a reissue of the 1973 US release.
