This is the memorable first album by Meredith Monk, a cutting-edge minimal music composer and voice performer, released on a private label in 1971. Collin Walcott, a percussionist known for his work with Don Cherry and as a member of Oregon, not only performs on this album but also supervises the entire production. The album features a spiritual voice improvisation B4, in which multiple female voices are layered on top of each other, and B5, in which a haunting voice improvisation unfolds in a smoky space with a minimal beat and heavy-low percussion. The primitive sound that appeals to the human subconscious develops throughout the entire album, and is intense.

B4: Chance
B5: Dungeon
