Michael Mantler, an Austrian-born jazz trumpeter who flourished in the U.S., released this leader album in 1980 as the second installment of his "Movies" album released in 1978. The sextet consists of Carla Bley (p) and Steve Swallow (b), Phillip Catherine (g), Gary Windo (ts), and D. Sharpe (ds). The horn section of Michael Mantler and Gary Windo is mostly devoted to riffs, and Phillip Catherine's expressive guitar playing is on full display, and the whole album is progressive jazz rock just like the previous one. This is the original German release produced and distributed by ECM.
