A leader album released in 1974 by Austrian trumpeter Michael Mantler, who co-founded the Jazz Composers Orchestra Association in New York with Carla Bley and orchestrated numerous acclaimed sessions. The album features Don Cherry (tp), Carla Bley (p), and Jack Bruce (vo, b), and is based on an excerpt from the novel "How It Is" by Irish writer Samuel Beckett. Opening with Bley's piano and solemn choruses, the album unfolds dramatically, incorporating Bruce's recitation, showcasing a superb storytelling style. Cherry's trumpet adds an emotional dimension. This is the original UK pressing.
