This is a collection of works by Michiharu Matsunaga, a contemporary musician who began with sound string techniques and continued with compositions using Japanese and Western instruments and electronic music works, following the times and continuing his energetic creative activities. It was released in 1978 on Kojima Recordings' ALM Records. Composition A1 for recorder and marimba and B2, performed by Tomoyuki Okada Percussion Ensemble for percussion instruments, are excellent, but the big highlights are A2. It is an ensemble of piano, marimba, horn, cello and electronics that dances gently as if expressing the transition of nature with slow and steady movements, topped by electronic sounds. And B1, in which Kunizan Yamamoto, Shin Miyashita, and Keiko Abe participate, with its unique floating sensation and shakuhachi, koto, and vibraphone dancing through the silent space. Especially A2 is a feeling I have never heard before. Highly recommended.
