Mieko Hirota made her debut in 1961 at the age of 14 and became a popular and talented singer who could sing jazz and R&B to perfection. This is her 1973 jazz vocal album, which includes Duke Ellington's 'Satin Doll', sung by Ella Fitzgerald, 'But Beautiful', the theme song from the Bing Crosby film, and Johnny Green's standard 'Body and Soul'. The excellent playing of The Running Buffalo and the sultry vocals of Mieko Hirota combine to make this an authentic Japanese jazz classic. The arrangements by Yuji Ohno and Hiromasa Suzuki are superb. This is the original Master Sonic 1st pressing, with a wonderful balance of smooth, thick bass and transparent treble.
