This is in the guidebook "OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION". New Zealand-born, Australian-based jazz pianist Mike Nock released his first album for ECM in 1982, featuring Eddie Gomez (b) and Jon Christensen (dr). The album was recorded in Oslo, Norway. As the title suggests, the five compositions are based on the theme of "Ondas" (waves), and each is a masterpiece of deep contemporary jazz, depicting the beautiful and fragile contrast between the quiet waves of the beach and the horizon, just like the artwork. Mike Nock's piano, Eddie Gomez's and Jon Christensen's playing is excellent, and the sound particles float softly in the clear space. In 1985, Polydor released this heavyweight vinyl as part of the ECM Highest Quality series to celebrate the 15th anniversary of ECM. The sound of this series is very good and you can feel the Japanese attention to detail.
