New Zealand-born, Australian-based jazz pianist MIke Nock has a long list of outstanding works, including 1982's “Ondas”, which was featured in the ECM section of the OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION guidebook. This is a solo piano piece recorded in New York in 1978. Nock is a true lyricist, and this album is full of imaginative, beautiful playing that evokes a wide range of scenes and landscapes, from the rhythmical to the gentle, floating. The album closes with a great cover of Herbie Hancock's classic 'Dolphin Dance’.
There is a very small pressing error in the second half of A2, with a couple of slight low click noises, but it is hardly noticeable.
