An album by Japanese artist Miki Yui, who has been active in the fields of music and contemporary art since 1994, based in Düsseldorf, Germany. She has collaborated with Klaus Dinger of Neu! / La Düsseldorf, and in recent years has also been known for the unit Realistic Monk with Carl Stone and collaborations with Asmus Tietchens. This is her fifth solo album, self-released in 2015. Featuring delicately resonant hiss and hum noises, the work unfolds as a form of painterly experimental music, shaped by a unique perspective in which the figurative and the abstract subtly dissolve into one another. The artwork—created by Yui herself using stamps—beautifully evokes a sense of spatial depth, blending geometric forms with botanical motifs. This copy was obtained directly from the artist during her visit to Japan. Highly recommended.
