Miles Davis, the undisputed giant of the American jazz scene, released this historic double album in 1974. Inspired by Sly & The Family Stone's 1972 masterpiece "On The Corner", Miles was always greedy for new music, and this album contains excerpts from recordings made between 1970 and 1974. The album was recorded between 1970 and 1974 at the same time as the band's 1972 masterpiece "On The Corner", which was a funk-infused album recorded by Herbie Hancock, Mtume, David Liebman, Al Foster, Michael Henderson, Bernard Purdie, Carlos Garnett and many others. The songs were cut from the long sessions that were held with Michael Henderson, Bernard Purdie, Carlos Garnett, and other distinguished members of the '70s Miles group, and the composition reflects the sense and taste of producer Teo Macero. It's all about the atmosphere and the smoky atmosphere, and Miles' mute trumpet dancing with the deep reverberation will knock you down. I highly recommended.|
