This is an album released in 1970 by the American jazz pianist Muhal Richard Abrams, one of the founders of The Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM). The A-side features an extended and blissful piano solo by Abrams. On the B-side, he is joined by fellow AACM members, including Leo Smith on trumpet and French horn, Henry Threadgill on alto saxophone, Lester Lashley on bass, and Thurman Barker on percussion, forming a quintet. The album begins with an ethnic and atmospheric introduction, with the delicate sounds of wind chimes and trumpet resembling animal calls. It then transitions into powerful improvisations that feel like soulful cries, creating a tense and spiritually charged avant-garde jazz experience at its best. This version is a 1974 US reissue. Same as the original pressing, the title and credits on both the back cover and label are reversed.
