A 1984 release pairing two seasoned masters: Italian piano heavyweight Guido Manusardi, active at the forefront since the 1960s, and Argentine saxophonist/flutist Hugo Heredia, who also took part in the recording of Astor Piazzolla’s historic masterpiece Libertango. Recorded in Milan, Italy. The album opens with A1, an introduction touched with a contemporary classical feel, followed by A2, where Heredia’s gentle flute floats gracefully over Manusardi’s restrained piano. Also featured is B1, a beautifully refreshing take on a Joe Henderson classic, arranged with the ease of a soft breeze. A superb contemporary jazz album, distinguished throughout by its deeply organic atmosphere. Highly recommended.
