This album was featured in the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION. It is the 1980 solo release on ECM by Brazilian percussion genius Nana Vasconcelos, known for his collaborations with Don Cherry, Egberto Gismonti, and numerous other musicians worldwide, as well as his extensive work on ECM projects. This masterpiece showcases Vasconcelos's unparalleled artistry. The album features breathtaking performances, including a stunning collaboration between Vasconcelos's signature berimbau solos and the majestic strings of the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra. The result is an extraordinary piece of Brazilian percussion music that leads listeners into a trance-like state. Egberto Gismonti, a longtime collaborator, also contributes on an 8-string guitar for one track. Highly recommended.
