This is a 1979 album by Ney Matogrosso, an iconic Brazilian singer known for his central role in the psychedelic rock band Secos & Molhados and for his many acclaimed solo albums. The album includes the bossa nova number A4, composed by Joyce, where Ney gently sings against the backdrop of Joyce's mellow nylon-string guitar melody and elegant flute/strings. Another highlight is B1, composed by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes, featuring Dori Caymmi's nostalgic guitar and Ney's poignant vocals. This masterpiece is filled with Ney Matogrosso's expressive vocals in mature, sensuous ballads and choros. The score for A2, performed with an orchestra and showcasing the emotive singing of Fatima Guedes, is also outstanding. Highly recommended.
A2: Dor Medonha
A4: Ardente
