This is a 1962 album by the iconic American jazz singer Nina Simone, showcasing a wide range of styles from standard to primitive Afro. The album features live recordings from a concert held in 1961 at The Village Gate, a club in New York, with Al Shackman (guitar), Bobby Hamilton (drums), and Chris White (bass) forming the trio accompanying her. Backed by the excellent performances of these three musicians, Simone delivers a bluesy and soulful performance, capturing her charm to the fullest.
