This album was released in 1972 by Charles Lloyd, a saxophonist active since the early 1960s. Charles Lloyd, a Memphis native with a deep knowledge of US black music such as blues and gospel, has performed with Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and many others in the free jazz field, but in the 1970s he released several psychedelic-oriented albums, including this one. These include the tropical West Coast sound of A1 with its Beach Boys-like chorus work, A2 with its progressive psychedelic jazz rock, and A3 with its psychedelic interplay of Gabor Szabo's guitar and Charles Lloyd's flute. It's a masterpiece full of colorful sounds, including the psychedelic A3 with Gabor Szabo's guitar and Charles Lloyd's flute.

A3: Majorca
