A 1985 trio album featuring pianist Piero Bassini—whose work with Luis Agudo on In The Shadows was outstanding—alongside drummer Giampiero Prina, who also appeared on that album, and guitarist Attilio Zanchi, a member of Aktuala and contributor to the Italian psychedelic ethno-jazz classic La Terra. Rooted in a modal jazz foundation yet often slipping into crossover territory with a Latin feel reminiscent of Chick Corea’s Return to Forever, the music steadily draws you in with its evolving textures and dynamics. The storm-like interplay Bassini unleashes throughout is nothing short of superb. Highly recommended.
