This is an album released in 1974 by Orchestre Tropicana d'Haiti, a Caribbean island Haitian group formed in 1963 out of l'Orchestre Caraibes, which was born in the 1950s. The group, under the direction of Emmanuel Turenne and featuring popular singers Giordani Joseph, Parisien Fil-Aime, and Gerard Michel on vocals, flexibly incorporated Latin and French music, including merengue, bolero, and cha-cha-cha, which were very popular in Haiti at the time. The music is full of tropical flavors, with a gentle, sunny feel from start to finish. The moderate melancholy is also great.
