This is an album released in 1977 on Paul Bley's Improvising Artists Inc. label. Ornette Coleman, an American saxophonist whose experimental music from the late 1950s onward had a profound influence on many musicians as free jazz, performed live at the Hillcrest Club in Los Angeles in 1958 with Paul Bley (p), Don Cherry (tp), Charlie Haden (b), and Billy Higgins (ds). I think this show was held before the release of Coleman's debut album, "Something Else," and the young musicians, who were searching for a new jazz style that absorbed R&B and soul, performed "Ramblin," which Bley would often cover, and I felt the excitement on the eve of free jazz that was to be born later. Including label catalog of the label.
