This album was released in 1968 by Ornette Coleman, the American saxophonist who influenced Don Cherry and many other musicians as the undisputed father of free jazz. A1 is playing with The Philadelphia Woodwind Quintet, B1/B2 with The Chamber Symphony of Philadelphia Quartet. It is a contemporary music that transcends the territory of jazz, with chamber music elements of flute, French horn, cello, clarinet, oboe, violin and bassoon orchestral music, and saxophone melodies by Coleman, who took the roots of jazz from New Orleans to the extreme.
